Short version
We do not collect personal data. We do not log your IP address. We do not store transcripts. We do not use cookies for tracking. The only data we process is the video URL you provide, and only for the purpose of generating the transcript.
1. What we collect
Transcript Extract collects no personally identifiable information. We do not ask for your name, email address, or any account details. No cookies are set for tracking or advertising purposes.
2. How your video URL is used
When you submit a video URL, it is sent to our backend server solely to retrieve the audio and generate a transcript. The URL and the resulting transcript are not stored after processing is complete. We retain only anonymous, aggregated usage statistics (e.g., total requests per hour) with no link to individual users.
3. Logging
Our server logs minimal metadata required for operating the service (e.g., request timestamps and platform type). IP addresses are not logged. Log data is automatically purged within 24 hours.
4. Third-party services
Transcription is powered by Groq AI (speech-to-text). Only the audio stream extracted from the URL you provide is sent to Groq's API. We do not share any user data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
5. GDPR compliance
As we collect no personal data, there is no data subject request (DSR) obligation. However, if you believe we have inadvertently collected your personal data, please contact us and we will act promptly.
6. Fair use & legal
Transcript Extract is intended for educational and research purposes. Users are responsible for ensuring their use of transcripts complies with applicable laws and the terms of service of the relevant video platforms. We do not endorse or facilitate copyright infringement.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision.
